Trivia with the Bens Postponed

Dear Friends:

We’ve made the decision to postpone tonight’s game.

This Tuesday, we kneel together with our Black families, friends, and neighbors. Our country’s history of prejudice and racism is long, deadly, and full of sorrow. And once again, movements and voices are pleading for real change. 

“Building community” has always been a core value of our trivia nights. Tonight, we simply ask you to build community in a different manner. You could discover amazing Black naturalists by following the #BlackBirdersWeek and #BlackInNature celebrations happening on social media this week. Or find your own way to support the current civil rights conversation with ideas in this great tweet thread and this list and this one. CapSciComm has also posted other suggestions for self-reflection and taking action.

We’ll always have another Tuesday to play trivia — and we can’t wait to share laughs with you again. But right now, our hearts are simply in a different space. Because Black lives matter.
